In Session Four you will learn the language of teaching movement, how to understand and teach using the traditional Sanskrit language of yoga, as well as dip deep into pools of yoga chanting.  You’ll experience the power of yoga to bring emotional healing through movement and the ethics of helping students who experience emotional shifts during class.

You will get the most out of Session Four by pre-reading pages 5-36 and review pages 43-53 in Session Four of your manual, listening to your “Yoga Chant” audio CD, and viewing your “Maitri and Shakrti Spiritus Home-study Course” DVDs in your media kit binder, and reviewing your Bodhi Yoga™ Asana Template on page 154-156 in your manual.  Try keeping a journal this session to log your own emotions that arise as you do your personal practice and teach students.

Discussion – Class 1: EMOTIONS OF MOVEMENT
Teaching yoga classes that support emotional healing. Which poses bring up which emotional paths. Learn proper ethics for dealing with the emotional aspects, that practicing yoga can bring up.

Discussion – Class 2: ETHICS DHARMA OF TEACHING
Learn how to develop healthy boundaries as a yoga teacher. Create a life-long livelihood through good communication with students. Ethics of honoring your Dharma of making a living as a healer.

Discussion – Class 3: SANSKRIT LANGUAGE & MANTRA
Learn the language of yoga and how what you say everyday becomes your mantra; as well as how to understand poses and teach yoga classes in Sanskrit.

Discussion – Class 4: SANSKRIT SACRED CHANT
Learn to understand and teach transformational yoga chant in asana, meditation and a varied of yoga practices.

Session Four:  Online Yoga Teacher Training Asana Classes 1-9 and Bodhi YTT Manual Follow-up

Each asana class below includes up to five other complimentary poses for combining yoga asanas together, teaching students how to move into more advanced variations of the pose using Bodhi Yoga’s Natural Progression™ teaching technique, and begin understanding more intelligent transitions for moving into and out of each asana.  You’ll love learning hands-on adjusting and discover how to build a variety of classes within each specific yoga pose class focus:

ASANA – Class 1: ARDHA MATSYANDRASANA
Teaching approach, hands-on adjusting, sequencing and complimentary transitions into and out of the Seated Twist pose.

ASANA – Class 2: VASISTHASANA
Teaching approach, hands-on adjusting, sequencing and complimentary transitions into and out of the Side Plank Arm Balance pose.

ASANA – CLASS 3: JANU SIRSASANA
Teaching approach, hands-on adjusting, sequencing and complimentary transitions into and out of the Head-to-knee Pose.

ASANA – Class 4: INTRO TO BACK BENDING
Introduction to the benefits, purpose and sequencing of Back-bending yoga poses.

Session Four Follow-up

Once you have completed Session Four of the online Bodhi Yoga™ teacher training streaming classes and reading, you will need to complete your Session Four Follow-up and practice teaching feedback forms and place them in the back pocket of your manual, to submit with your certification packet.
